UHP - Frequently Asked Questions
It is a 2-year honors program available to qualified incoming first-year students on the Boca Raton campus. It is open to students from all majors.
- A minimum Honors core of 14 credits
- 20 hours of community service during the first-year year
- Maintain a 3.0 grade point average in Honor courses.
- Achieve a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.
- Minimum test scores of 25 ACT/ 1200 SAT-R
- Minimum high school GPA of 4.0 (weighted)
- Academic rigor of high school curriculum
Absolutely. A holistic review of the application and supporting documents will be used in the evaluation. We are very aware that students have special talents that will not always be reflected in the test score and/or grade point average.
Yes. We would look forward to receiving your application. Your first semester grades will also be considered in the admission process.
Yes, students that are awarded one of the above scholarships will automatically be invited to join the UHP. An additional application is not needed; however, you must confirm that you will join the UHP.
Students not receiving a Presidential or Spirit of FAU scholarship will be considered for an Elite Owl Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded early in the admission cycle and are limited in number.
Unfortunately, there is no prioritized housing or discount for UHP students. Housing contracts will be available online: https://housingportal.fau.edu/.
The UHP is available to students in all majors.
